DIY Coffee Scrub

I will keep this short. I was prompted to make my own body scrub because after thorough research, I found that most of those available for purchase are either non-organic and full of unfriendly toxic ingredients, and/or quite expensive. Also, upon researching recipes online, I discovered I had everything I needed to make my own scrub at home, so I decided to give it a go. And am I glad I did! I’ve been using this body scrub all Summer and it’s pretty great!
While researching recipes for coffee and coconut oil scrub, I found out that caffeine supposedly helps reduce cellulite. While I do not claim that this scrub will reduce cellulite, I will say that I did notice that the skin became smoother and firmer after the first month of regular use. It exfoliates very nicely and it also moisturises the skin. I use it twice weekly, but it’s fine to use it even on a daily basis if you like.
Basically, all you need to make this scrub is coffee, coconut oil and unrefined sugar. Coconut oil and coffee are both rich in antioxidants, which are great for the skin. To me, the best thing about making my own beauty product is that I know exactly what I’m applying to my skin. Last, but not least, I have to mention the smell: this scrub smells absolutely delicious and if you like coffee, you’ll enjoy the ritual of applying it even more.
